My birthday is a week away ya’ll and these past few weeks I have been combing through the last 365 days in my mind, looking for all the lessons and wisdom I can take into my new year. Dr. Joe Dispenza said, “a memory without the emotional charge is called wisdom”. I appreciate that definition, because it supports a healthy acknowledgement of past situations that cause us to grow and learn. For some of us…the older we get, the more we tend to realize who and what is important. We slowly submit to the reality that time is like the breeze, it can only be felt and not held. So, with all this on my mind I started to write down my fav quotes, thoughts, and gems of wisdom that I extracted from the last year, and would I like to share it with you. It’s like my lil birthday gift, to you! 😊
- You don’t always have to be in the mix, that’s how you lose your flavor.
- “Control your emotions” doesn’t mean avoid your emotion. Feel your shit, understand your shit, but just don’t lose your shit.
- Trust the overthinker who tells you they love you. They have, most assuredly thought of every reason not to.
- Rather than lower your expectations, simply choose to change the people you expect things from.
- Actions speak louder than words, but consistency speaks louder than both.
- In French you don’t say “I miss you”. You say “tu me manques” which means, “you are missing me from me”. I love that…
- Always say “but idk though” after giving advice just in case it ruins their life! 😊
- Rest and recovery are just as important as hustle and grind.
- Wise men speak because they have something to say; fools speak because they have to say something”. – Plato
- To attain knowledge, add things every day. To attain wisdom, subtract things every day”- Lao Tzu
- A man (or woman) that lacks purpose, distracts himself with pleasure.
- Half of the troubles of this life can be traced to saying yes too quickly, and not saying no soon enough.
- It’s the help that I didn’t get, that helped me the most.
- Do all things from love, not for love.
- Stop trying to show people what they lost because if you’re being honest with yourself, you’ll have to admit that they never really knew what they had.
- Be honest, be vulnerable, be courageous with your love and in life. Don’t let the thief of fear, rob you of all that you deserve.
- A superior man is modest in his speech but exceeds in his actions.
- If they don’t already look at you like you’re magic… disappear.
- Some people love you. Some love to be around you. Some love what you can do for them. Understand the difference.
- “If it hurts more than it heals, let it go. If it gives you more pain than pleasure, let it go. If it suffocates more than it liberates, let it go. If it is killing you to hold on, please let that shit go!” – uhhhh me! DD Thompson 😊
Love Love Love! I have to add these to my notes for recurring reflection. The last one is very familiar from a fabulous read! 😀
Thanks for sharing your gift‼️ Greatly appreciated 😊
